Eat With Me: Places to Eat in Seattle, Washington

If you would have asked me 2 years ago where I recommend eating in Seattle, I wouldn’t have a clue. I typically am not a picky person when it comes to food and usually prefer to stick to more chain restaurants. However, I have been introduced to some really good places thanks to my awesome boyfriend who tends to be a food snob. I have compiled a big list of food by neighborhood in Seattle! I apologize that this post isn’t more picture heavy, I typically don’t take pictures of my food!

Food Trucks

Food trucks have become such a big thing in Seattle. You can find food trucks in almost every neighborhood in Seattle. Some of my favorites are:

  • Seafood – Nosh food truck
  • Hawaiian – Sam Choy’s Poke to the Max
  • American – Cheese Wizards
  • Thai – Buddha Bruddah
  • Mexican – El Camion

Downtown Seattle

  • Chan Seattle – this is a Korean Gastropub style restaurant. This is one of the best restaurants I have been to. It is tucked away near Pikes Place in the Inn at the Market court area.
  • Piroshky Piroshky – this little place across from Pikes Place always has a line! They have amazing piroshky’s. If you have never had one, this is the best place to try them for the first time.
  • The Carlile Room – This is a Tom Douglas restaurant. Really, you can’t go wrong with a Tom Douglas restaurant, but I love this because you can order a bunch of small plates and share it among you friends.
  • Sweet Iron – I stumbled across this place when looking for a breakfast spot. They serve waffles with almost any sweet or savory topping you can think of. The restaurant is small, so don’t count on being able to find a seat. They serve pretty good coffee too.

Belltown

  • Umi Sake Seattle – is a great sushi spot and also has a great happy hour
  • Local Pho – This is a pho restaurant I used to frequent when I worked closer. It has great pho and spring rolls at a great price
  • Assaggio Ristorante – If you love Italian, you will love this place. The interior décor has a traditional Italian feel and great dishes
  • Deli Shez Café – This is a small gyro restaurant. I used to visit this place for lunch a few times.

Ballard

  • Arashi Ramen – I LOVE this place. Try the pot stickers! My favorite ramen from here is the black garlic.
  • La Isla Cuisine – They serve some pretty good Puerto Rican food. My favorite dish from here is Pernil Divino.
  • El Camion – besides being a great food truck, this place also has a small standalone restaurant with the same great food
  • Root Table – You wouldn’t know it from the name, but this is a Thai restaurant. If you eat at this restaurant you will get to enjoy the great décor as well.
  • Billy Beach Sushi and Bar – This is my second favorite sushi restaurant besides one about 20 minutes north of Seattle. I love coming here during their happy hour. They have a big list of sushi and a bunch of rolls that are different from what you would find at other places.
  • Bramling Cross – I recently was here and enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere and some chorizo clams.
  • Ballard Annex Oyster House – Two dishes to have here: Oysters (duh), and a crab roll!

South Lake Union

  • Veggie Grill – I love the BLT and the sweet potato fries. If you get anything that has “chicken,” you will be enjoying a chicken substitute that fooled me!
  • LOCAL Public Eatery – this is a great spot to enjoy a beer and some appetizers.
  • Mbar – Arguably the best views in South Lake Union. This restaurant is at the top of the 400 Fairview building. There is an indoor restaurant part and an outdoor rooftop to enjoy food and drinks.
  • Portage Bay Café – I love this place for brunch. If you go here, get a waffle so you have an excuse to load up on toppings at the topping bar.
  • Sam’s Tavern – This place is known for their Bloody Mary with a full slider on top!
