I Stayed at the Hotel With the Highest Infinity Pool. Here is How it Went.

What do you think of when you see the Marina Bay Sands? Now, it is probably from the movie, Crazy Rich Asians, am I right?! Well, before it became movie famous, it was famous for its amazing infinity pool all the way up on the 57th floor. It has arguable some of the best views from any hotel (well, maybe besides Dubai).

When our layover took us through Singapore, I knew immediately that we HAD to stay there. It was worth the splurge, especially since it was our honeymoon!

Also, if you missed my previous post about Singapore, check it out here: 48 Hours in Singapore

Location

In my opinion, the best things to see with just a few days are all located around the Marina Bay District (and those few other locations are easily accessible by public transportation). Some of the things you may choose to see with your first time in Singapore, or only a few days in Singapore are:

  • ArtScience Museum
  • Gardens by the Bay
  • Eat at a Hawker Stand
  • Chinatown
  • Marina Bay light show and Super Trees light shows at night

We found it super easy to use the subway system. There is a station right in the Marina Bay Sands Mall. It was about a ten minute ride to get to Chinatown.

Our Hotel Room

This hotel isn’t cheap. Even the most basic room will run you about $350 USD. Coming from a girl who usually spends a fraction of that per night on a room, it was expensive. However, not knowing when I would ever be in Singapore again, the cost didn’t matter. When we arrived at the hotel at 7 AM hoping to be able to check in early, OF COURSE our “basic” room wasn’t available until closer to 11 AM. We had been traveling all night and basically hadn’t slept so we agreed to pay another $350 USD to upgrade our room and also get our room right then!

I just did research to see what level room we ended up booking and we got the Club Level room! This came with a few bonus amenities including:

  • An elevator we shared with just a handful of rooms = we basically got the elevators to ourselves
  • Access to Club 55 which has panoramic views of Singapore and gets you access to tea time, happy hour all included in the price of your room
  • Complimentary buffet breakfast at one of their three buffet restaurants. We ate at Spago on the top floor

When we first opened the door to our room, no joke, it had the best views of the Super Trees at Gardens by the Bay! It was also one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in!

Skypark

This is probably the reason you are staying at the hotel, right? Well, you must be a hotel guest with a key card to be able to use the Skypark amenities, including that infinity pool! Although I was hoping that requirement would help keep the crowds down, I was WRONG. We went in the pool at 10 PM and it was still crowded with people! Don’t forget to walk all the way to the far end to experience even more amazing views! This area isn’t as crowded so you can enjoy the views a bit more.

Shopping

If you love shopping, the hotel also has one of the largest shopping malls. There are so many luxury stores you can shop at. Some of them I didn’t even recognize!

Light Shows

At night, you have two light shows you can check out:

1. Spectra Light Show: This is a 15 minute light and water show that is displayed at the Event Plaza along the Marina Bay promenade.

Show times are:

  • Sunday to Thursday – 8:00pm and 9:00pm
  • Friday & Saturday – 8:00pm, 9:00pm and 10:00pm

2. Supertree Grove Light show: Measuring 72 feet high, the Supertree Grove comes alive 2 times a night with an amazing light show to music. These trees are massive and avatar-like, which is super amazing to see in person!

Show times are:

  • 7:45 and 8:45 PM nightly.

If you have stayed at Marina Bay Sands, what was your experience like?
