Travel With Me: 5 Wineries to check out in Lake Chelan

Lake Chelan. This has to be one of my favorite place to get away in Washington. There is something about posting up for 6 hours in 90 degree weather, switching back and forth between sun bathing and floating in the freezing cold lake. I had a chance to spend Memorial Weekend in Lake Chelan which is the longest I have spent in this town. We found a killer spot right in the middle of town across from Don Morse Park. It had a pool and everything.

Over the recent years, I have been trying to get into wine. Chelan has such a mild climate that it is a great place to have vineyards, tasting rooms and wineries. We found 5 wineries all within walking distance from each other and were able to create our own fun walking tour.

1. Chelan Estate Winery

755 S Lakeshore Rd, Chelan, WA 98816

I would recommend starting at this winery. This is the furthest winery away from downtown Chelan so from here, you are walking back toward town. This is a small tasting room and features wines grown right here in Lake Chelan [FACT CHECK]. There is some great outdoor seating with views of the lake. We arrived right when the winery opened at [INSERT TIME] and enjoyed a tasting flight.

2. Fielding Hills Winery

565 S Lakeshore Rd, Chelan, WA 98816

After Chelan Estate, take a quick five minute walk to the next winery, Fielding Hills. This tasting room is fairly new and has a great circular tasting bar and a great lawn to sit out at. The wine here is really good. The wine is grown in [INSERT LOCATION]

3. Siren Song Vineyard Estate & Winery

635 S Lakeshore Rd, Chelan, WA 98816

Be prepared to be amazed! This winery has arguably the best views in Lake Chelan. The tasting room itself is an amazing Tuscan inspired villa and the back patio has sweeping views of the lake. This is the half way point in your winery hopping so this is also a great place to grab lunch. We enjoyed great Caprese salads and flat bread pizza with … another flight of wine! This would also make for a great wedding location.

4. Nefarious Cellars

495 S Lakeshore Rd, Chelan, WA 98816

After your lunch, make your way to Nefarious Cellars. This is a smaller tasting room and happened to be very crowded when we were there. We didn’t find as many wines that we enjoyed, but at this point I didn’t know if it was because we had already had 3 tasting flights and our taste buds were flooded with wine. This has great outdoor space as well and overlooks their vineyards.

5. Tunnel Hill Winery

37 US-97 ALT, Chelan, WA 98816

Next, hop across the highway and enjoy some wine at Tunnel Hill. This is a super cool tasting room. It is a stone building which feels like it is built into the side of the hill. There are several levels of outdoor space to relax and also features a small waterfall. The wine is great as well!

6. Tsillan Cellars

3875 Hwy 97A, Chelan, WA 98816

If for some reason those five wineries weren’t enough, the last winery that is in walking distance is Tsillan Cellars (Tsillian is the Native American pronunciation of Chelan). This winery is perched up on the hill and is the largest of the tasting rooms on this walking tour. This location is also a popular location for weddings. The wine isn’t bad as well!

Are there any wineries on the Chelan side of the lake that I didn’t mention that you love?
