Closet Staples to Build a Great Wardrobe

My shopping habits have been all over the place the last 15 years as I try and figure out my own personal style. With my shopping never being focused and always trying to build a wardrobe for a different trend, it has gotten a bit out of hand, expensive, and I started running out of room in my closet.

About six months ago, I really got inspired to stop buying trendy things and focus on buying things that are more classic and can work with a bunch of other items in my closet. In doing that, I can’t tell you how much easier it has been to get ready in the morning. I am not standing there staring at my closet wondering what outfit I can come up with.

I have even started creating mini capsule wardrobes to make it even easier. I will go in to my experience and how I am utilizing a capsule wardrobe in future posts.

Here are the items I made sure to have as basic staples in my closet. These are items that help to create a great foundation to an outfit.

Where do I buy most of my clothes?

Lately, I have mainly found myself shopping at: Nordstrom, American Eagle, Target, Old Navy, Nordstrom Rack, Amazon and Abercrombie. That is where all of my staples will be linked.
