Are you going on a cruise that has an at sea day? Does it make you nervous that you will be trapped on a boat with nothing to do? The GREAT thing about cruises is that they plan for at sea days by giving you a TON of things to keep you entertained all day long.
A great way to help pass the time is to sign up for a spa treatment. On my last cruise, I signed up for a couples massage and also booked it first thing in the morning. You will come out refreshed and ready for the day.
Spend your evening seeing one of the shows! This is usually what I do when on a cruise and I always enjoy it! Check the daily itinerary they give you the night before so you know what theme the show will be that night.
On a tropical cruise? Chances are you have amazing weather to be able to relax on the pool deck. If you end up at the main pool area, you will be set with a full day of entertainment. There will probably be things you wish you could un-see like sexy man contests.
Travel Tip: Get to the pool early, the main areas fill up fast
Wine or Beer Tasting
I cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line where they typically always have a wine bar on their newer ships. You will have to pay extra, but it is a fun way to spend your day! On the Norwegian cruise I went on recently, they had a really fun brewhouse that had about 50 beers on tap! If you know me, you know that was my heaven. I spent a few hours here! The last cool spot you may have on your cruise is a mojito bar! The coconut mojito was my favorite!
Looking to get caught up on your reading, well, you have nowhere to go so you have time! I usually pack 1-2 books on my cruises and can finish both! There are so many places you can read on the cruise: pool deck, your stateroom, or all the lounge chairs scattered on the boat!
I know a lot of people have the mentality that they are not going to work out on vacation. I'm not sure about you, but I like to get in that one last workout before I get off the ship the next day! I have found NCL ships have really good workout facilities.
If NONE of these sound like something fun to do, than be sure to check your daily activity list that the cruise staff put in your room the night before. There is something to entertain everyone. I promise!
